💰 Roche-Hansoh ADC expansion includes $400M upfront
Roche is expanding its ADC partnership with Hansoh Pharmaceutical in a deal worth $400 million upfront, another $110 million at the first anniversary, and more than $15 billion in potential milestones. The agreement adds two preclinical ADC candidates plus multiple undisclosed Roche-proposed programs, with Hansoh leading development through global Phase Ia before Roche takes over ex-China rights.
Why It Matters To Oncology
ADCs remain one of oncology’s hottest drug-discovery areas, and Roche is deepening its access to Hansoh’s platform beyond the companies’ earlier CDH17-directed colorectal cancer pact.
The expansion covers two preclinical candidates and additional programs on undisclosed targets, underscoring continued appetite for earlier-stage ADC assets despite recent regulatory setbacks elsewhere in the field.
For clinicians, the deal is an early signal of where future solid-tumor pipelines may emerge, especially as ADCs are expected to be a major focus at ESMO.
The Financials
Hansoh will receive $400 million upfront and $110 million on the first anniversary of the agreement.
The package also includes more than $15 billion in potential development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments.
That comes on top of the October 2025 deal for HS-20110, a CDH17-targeting ADC, which carried an $80 million upfront and up to $1.45 billion in milestones, plus royalties.
Hansoh can also opt to co-fund up to two programs outside China in exchange for additional potential upside tied to US commercialization.
What They're Saying
“Expanding our strategic collaboration with Hansoh marks an important step in advancing our ADC vision,” Roche business development chief Boris Zaïtra said in a company release.
Zaïtra added that next-generation ADCs are “one of the most compelling frontiers in oncology today,” citing unmet need and the potential to accelerate new therapies globally.
The companies did not disclose the targets involved or the total number of additional programs covered.
What's Next
Hansoh will run early development through completion of global Phase Ia testing.
Roche will then assume worldwide development and commercialization rights outside China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, while Hansoh retains rights in those territories.
Key watchpoints for oncology drug hunters: target selection, early safety and efficacy readouts, and whether Roche’s broader ADC push can avoid the regulatory turbulence seen in other high-profile partnerships.
